ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
Foodscape began as a tongue-in-cheek protest to Baltimore’s early Artscape Festivals, when artists felt there was more food on display than art. Begun at the Mt. Royal Tavern circa 1982 and hung the week before Artscape, this annual show flourished for 35 years. Its last official exhibition, Check Please, was held at the Creative Alliance in 2021.
In July, Artists Housing Inc.’s Gallery 1448 is taking another bite with a food-themed exhibition showing the work of many past Foodscape participants along with works by artists new to the “genre.”
Participating artists are Mark Adams, Claudia Bismark, Matt Bovie, Kevin Bulger, Lauren Case, Shannon Cassidy, Ruth Channing Middleman, Kini Collins, Janice Crum, Greg Fletcher, Sydney Hopkins, J.
